A tour on Vimmersa can be visible in two ways. Public means anyone with the link can open it. Explore, our public gallery, is a showcase: tours appear there after a review. This page explains what Explore expects, what we remove from Vimmersa altogether, and how our decisions reach you.

Explore is where people see what spatial presentation can do, so it holds tours to a standard. A tour appears in Explore when it meets it:

  • Real 360° panoramas. Every scene is a full 360° image: a 2:1 equirectangular panorama, a cube map, or a stereo or VR180 image. Flat photos and renders wrapped onto a sphere are not 360° panoramas.
  • At least 4K. Panoramas at least 3,840 pixels wide, or the equivalent for cube maps. Smaller images look blurry once someone looks around.
  • A real title and a short description. “Uploaded Images (1)” or a camera file name is not a title. One sentence about the place is enough for the description.
  • The view is the subject. No large watermarks, logos or advertising over the scene. Put your branding in the tour's logo settings instead.
  • A place or space. Architecture, interiors, real estate, venues and landscapes. No test uploads, and no copies of a tour that is already in Explore.
360° panorama. Twice as wide as it is tall: the whole sphere around the camera in one image.
Flat photo or render. One view of the room. Wrapped onto a sphere it bends and stretches, and it doesn't count as a 360° panorama.

Featured tours are hand-picked from Explore: the ones we think show the format at its best. They open the gallery and the Vimmersa homepage.

The automatic check

When a tour becomes public, an automatic check looks at the first three points above: 360° format, resolution, and title and description. If something is missing, the tour isn't sent for review yet, and your tour's Project settings list what to fix. Fix it and it moves into review on its own.

The check only decides whether a person looks at your tour yet. It never removes anything. If you think it got your tour wrong, choose Ask for a review anyway in Project settings and a person will look.

Content rules

Some content isn't allowed anywhere on Vimmersa, public or not. We take down tours that contain:

  • illegal content;
  • material you don't have the rights to, such as someone else's photos, renders or designs;
  • privacy violations: identifiable people, number plates or private information shown without consent;
  • sexual, violent or hateful content;
  • spam, scams or misleading content.

These rules build on sections 11 and 12 of our Terms of Service.

How moderation works

We make two kinds of decision, and never mix them up:

  • Removed from Explore. The tour leaves the gallery. It stays public, and its link, share links and embeds keep working. This is about the gallery standard.
  • Taken down. The tour is hidden from everyone except you and your editors, including its links. This is for the content rules. Nothing is deleted, and a takedown can be reversed.

A person makes every removal and every takedown. Each one comes with its reason in plain words: in your notifications, by email, and in the tour's Project settings.

Fixed it? Choose Ask for a new review in Project settings. A person looks at every request.

Editing a tour that is in Explore? Your changes go live straight away and the tour stays in Explore. If you change its scenes, title or description, we may look at it again.

Think a takedown is a mistake? Reply to the email or contact support. We'll look at it again and tell you the outcome.

Seen something that breaks these rules? Anyone can report a tour: open its info panel and choose Report this tour. Every report reaches a person.

Search engines

A tour can appear in search engines only when it is in Explore and you have turned on search indexing for it. Tours outside Explore still open for anyone with the link, but we don't list them for search engines.
