Remove a tripod from a 360° photo — without Photoshop
Photoshop dropped spherical panorama retouching when it removed its 3D features. Patch the nadir in the browser instead: rebuild clean floor with AI, or cover it with your logo.
To remove a tripod from a 360° photo, open the panorama in Vimmersa and use the Nadir panel. Generate floor with AI reconstructs clean, continuous floor over the camera position and matches it to the surrounding surface, so the tripod is replaced rather than hidden. If you would rather brand the spot, apply a logo patch in one click instead. Both run in the browser — there is no Photoshop, no plugin and no desktop install, which matters because Photoshop removed spherical panorama retouching along with its 3D features in version 22.5.
Three steps
Open the panorama
Upload your 360° photo as a location, or open one already in the tour, and switch to the Nadir panel. Nothing is installed — this runs in the browser.
Generate clean floor, or drop a logo
Generate floor with AI reconstructs continuous, photorealistic floor over the tripod and blends it into the surrounding surface. Prefer branding? Apply a logo patch instead — your brand logo, a text mark, or an uploaded image.
Adjust and save
Set the patch size and opacity until the seam disappears, then save. The patch is stored with the location, travels with the tour, and is included in the offline download.
Why do it here
No Photoshop, no plugin
Photoshop removed spherical panorama viewing and retouching along with its 3D features in version 22.5. This runs in the browser on any machine.
Reconstructed floor, not a sticker
The AI patch is asked to rebuild continuous, photorealistic floor matching the surrounding surface — no logo, no text, seamless.
Or a logo patch, free
If a branded nadir is what you want, apply a logo, a text mark or your own image instead. No credits and no generation step.
Written into the tour
The nadir patch is part of the location, so it renders everywhere the tour does — including in a headset and in the offline download.
Works from any 360 camera
Bring equirectangular JPG/PNG from a Theta, an Insta360, a drone pano or a phone capture.
Adjustable, not one-shot
Patch size and opacity stay editable after the fact, and the source panorama is never overwritten — delete the patch and the original floor is back.
Compared with the old Photoshop 3D workflow
| Photoshop 3D | Vimmersa | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Desktop app install | Browser, any machine |
| Spherical 360° retouching | Removed in Photoshop 22.5 | Purpose-built for it |
| Filling the tripod area | Clone stamp / healing by hand | AI reconstructs the floor |
| Branded nadir instead | Place and mask a logo manually | One-click logo patch, free |
| Result lives in the tour | Re-export and re-upload the image | Saved on the location |

Questions
How do I remove a tripod from a 360 photo?
Open the panorama in Vimmersa and use the Nadir panel. “Generate floor with AI” takes the area under the camera and reconstructs clean, continuous, photorealistic floor over the tripod, matched to the surrounding surface and blended so the seam is not visible. If you would rather cover the spot than rebuild it, apply a logo patch instead. Both work in the browser with nothing to install.
Why can’t I retouch 360 panoramas in Photoshop any more?
Adobe removed Photoshop’s 3D features in version 22.5 (2021), and spherical panorama viewing and retouching went with them. That workflow — opening an equirectangular image in the 3D workspace and painting out the tripod — is the one most 360 photographers had been using, which is why the question comes up so often. Vimmersa does the nadir step directly on the panorama instead, so you do not need the old 3D workspace back.
Does it cost anything?
The logo patch is free and always available; with no brand logo set it falls back to the Vimmersa mark. Generating floor with AI runs an image model and costs credits — the exact cost is shown on the button before you run it, and you are only charged when a patch is produced.
Can I apply the same patch to every panorama in a tour at once?
Not yet — the nadir patch is applied to one panorama at a time. If you are patching a large tour, this is worth knowing before you start: a 60- or 80-scene shoot is currently 60 or 80 passes. Batch application across a tour is a known request and is not shipped.
What if the generated floor comes out wrong?
Generate again, adjust the patch size and opacity, or delete the patch and apply a logo instead. Nothing is baked into the original panorama — the patch is a separate layer on the location, so the source image is never overwritten and you can always go back to the untouched floor.
Can I remove something other than the tripod?
The nadir tools target the floor under the camera specifically. To remove or change something elsewhere in the scene — an object, a sign, a parked car — use Retouch, which lets you mask any region of the panorama and edit it with AI.
