Panorama → 3D

Turn a flat 360° photo into a stereoscopic one you can look around in a headset. Drop in an equirectangular panorama; you get back a standard over-under 3D 360° image.

Estimating depth uses credits — the conversion itself does not, so you can re-run it at a different strength for free. Manage credits in your profile.

Real depth, not a fake tilt

Depth is estimated from the photo itself, then each eye is rendered from where that eye would actually be. Near things separate more than far things, the way they do in life.

As sharp as your original

Each eye comes out at your source resolution, so the 3D version is not a downscale. An 8K panorama gives two 8K eyes.

Plays where 360° already plays

Standard over-under stereo, tagged so headsets and other 360° players recognise it. On a flat screen it simply shows one eye.

What it does not do

  • The floor right under the camera goes flat. Straight down, your two eyes are level with each other, so there is no left-right depth to record there. The effect fades out near the very top and bottom of the frame.
  • Thin objects can show a soft edge. Behind a lamp stand or a chair leg is scenery the camera never saw, so it is filled from the background — usually invisible, occasionally a faint outline.
  • It needs a 2:1 equirectangular panorama. Cubemaps and part-sphere photos should go through the Panorama Converter first.
